Erica's Story

I was having pain in my lower left leg for over 6 months. It was a constant dull, aching pain that only copious amounts of ibuprofen could solve. I was referred to Dr. Kerr from one of his colleagues, as they thought it might have been a spinal issue I was dealing with. Dr. Kerr listened to my story and have many different tests (luckily, according to Dr. Kerr, I have the spine of a 17 year-old!!), that I had chronic exercise induced compartment syndrome. He informed me he occasionally saw this when he was working in the military, so he felt confident he could perform the surgery to help alleviate my pain. Once he told me this, I almost started crying out of happiness and relief. At this point in my journey, I was dealing with this debilitating pain for almost a year, so you can imagine how happy I was. I am currently about 2 months out of surgery and I know this was the right thing to do. The pain I had before is gone, and now I working on getting my strength back and eventually get back to running.

Throughout this whole process, I felt like Dr. Kerr did not give up on me. He always addressed my questions and concerns. It was obvious to me he wanted to help me get better. I am forever grateful for the care that was provided to me by Dr. Kerr. I would go back to him in a heart beat, if I needed to.
