  • I am happy to recommend Dr. Kerr's services! He is very compassionate and professional and works with you to get the appropriate treatment as soon as possible. He was a strong advocate for me when negotiating with insurance and was always responsive when I had questions or needed clarification. I was in horrible pain due to an advanced case of spinal stenosis, losing use of my left arm, and proceeded with tri-level ACDF surgery based on recommendation by Dr. Kerr. His advise was validated by multiple providers (internal medicine, occupational therapy, etc.), and I was able to go through with this difficult procedure and recovery with confidence that it was necessary. I am about 6-7 weeks out now and the operation has been a complete success thus far: the pains are gone, I am regaining functionality through physical therapy, and am healing on schedule! Excellent job by Dr. Kerr and Orthopedic Specialists of Seattle. Cheers!
  • Dr. Kerr is the kind of doctor patients hope for: confident, compassionate and communicative. While serving in Ft Bragg , CA, Dr. Kerr performed emergency surgery on me to address an infected foot wound. In his thorough discussion of the surgical process, he answered all of my questions and made me feel thankful that he was there. In a followup visit today, he was efficient and reassuring and even served as an instructor to the staff at our small rural local hospital. HIs compassion is genuine and is very much appreciated.
  • I suffered muscle spasms, searing nerve pain, and nearly 90% immobility of my left hand. I had 3 acupuncture treatments, 1 Urgent Care consult, and 2 exams at ERs without relief. I was told to see a spine surgeon. Online research of Anchorage spine doctors led me to Dr. Kerr. I appreciated his tremendously varied places of study and practice, and, his conservative approach to surgery. On a Friday morning my primary doctor referred me to Dr. Kerr and at 2pm that same day I had my first consult. How do I now spell relief? K.e.r.r. Dr. Kerr didn't patronize. He studied images, suggested home exercises, 3 prescriptions, and a follow-up. Sixteen days later I am virtually pain free and my hand has nearly fully recovered. Yea Dr. Kerr!
  • Dr. Kerr took his time to figure out what was wrong, as I had an atypical presentation of symptoms. He ultimately performed a complicated surgery which has led to a very successful outcome for me.
  • I was referred to ORCA for bi-carpal tunnel and what a blessing. Dr. Kerr welcomes me from the start and listens to my systems and concerns. Right away he acknowledges my bi-carpal tunnel which was expected however, during the diagnoses he knew I had a bigger issue with my neck. His experience as an Orthopedic Surgeon was right on. For many years I had severe pain in my shoulders, arms and hands and seen many physicians with no luck. So, with this being said, he assures me he will take care of me and resolve all my issues. He is a man of his word. He took care of my left carpal tunnel due to it was more severe than my right. During and after recovery he then turn his main focus on my compress C-spine (neck) and performed a neck surgery (fusion) which I'm still in the recovery phase but, what a world of difference it made. Thanks Dr. Kerr and his staff for making my life more bearable. So, I’m asked if I would see Dr. Kerr again or would recommend him for other patience’s. ****YES****
  • Excellent care. Excellent judgement pertaining to needed surgical intervention. Very kind and answers all questions! I came for back pain and they treated me without any procedure and my back pain was gone absolutely.
  • Excellent care. Excellent judgement pertaining to needed surgical intervention. Very kind and answers all questions!
  • I was handled with compassion and kindness from the very first appointment through the end of my surgery by every single member of the ORCA staff. Dr. Kerr, and his team, especially Peter his P.A. took exceptional care of me and I can extend the same praise to the staff at Regional Hospital - Ortho/Spine Unit. After half a year of excruciating pain, with multiple conservative treatments having failed, Dr. Kerr was able to assess and diagnose the issue and for the first time in months made me feel confident in the direction of my treatment plan. I can't thank him enough for not only the surgery that saved me from permanent paralysis in my leg, but for his care and kindness that made me feel human again. When he shakes your hand, looks into your eyes, and says "I'll take good care of you" he means it, and that's exactly what he and his team did.
  • The office staff and PA are all very accommodating and quickly process you through to the doctor. Dr. Kerr addressed my issues and listened to my concerns FULLY. It is the 3rd doctor I have seen and he fully explained everything very carefully. I left his office with some positive feelings and a sense there will be a solution to my issues. He is up to date in his medical knowledge and strives to take the time with his patients. I highly recommend him and his services to anyone that is searching top medical care.
  • I was very impressed by the professionalism of the entire staff. From the ease of booking an immediate appointment to the check in and check out, all was well orchestrated. My visit with the Doctor was thorough, helpful and beyond satisfying. I found him very knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend his services to anyone.
  • I was most pleased with my experience. Dr. Kerr treats his patients like family. He listens to you and shares different options, not always just physical therapy or just surgery. He cares, really cares and it shows.
  • Dr Kerr has taken very good care of me and my injured back. I am about two weeks out of surgery and am feeling much better. Dr Kerr, sits down with you and has a conversation about how you can work with him and his team to manage your health issues. He is very kind, compassionate and gentle. I was nervous about having back surgery, but Dr Kerr and staff put my mind at ease. Easy and convenient appointment times. Highly recommended!
  • I met Dr. Kerr in October of 2017, I had inured myself on my job and was in a terrible amount of pain. After my very first appointment with Dr. Kerr , I was impressed by the way he immediately put me at ease, with his knowledge of his profession, an Orthopedic spine specialist. He is extremely detail oriented, caring, and professional. After surgery he takes the time to check on you, he truly cares for his patients'. I Thanked Dr. Kerr for moving to Alaska! And would recommend him to others.
  • Thank You Lord! I am so grateful to God for this caring, kind, & compassionate doctor. After an emergency room visit in January 2018, I followed up with Dr. Kerr, he gave an honest assessment; answering all my questions. Later in January I was denied access to the bus via ramp twice, causing severe injury, making sugery necessary. Dr. Kerr performed the surgery with great success. Now December 2018 Dr. Kerr goes above & beyond again. I recommend Dr. Kerr to those for whom only the best will do!
  • Though I don't remember my first encounter, I met Dr Kerr in the ER after being struck head-on by pickup truck while on a motorcycle. I have been an ICU and ER nurse for 21 years, but never expected to be on the receiving end of the work I do. In my opinion, he has proved himself an excellent trauma surgeon, not only saving my life but he has a resolve to get me back to my prior level of function. His staff is professional, courteous, and pleasant. I would highly recommend ORCA clinic
  • I was very pleased with Dr. Kerr‘s bedside manner and willingness to explain every detail in depth can’t enough good about Dr. Kerr and his entire staff orthopedic research clinic
  • Great professional.
  • Dr. Kerr is very friendly and has a positive attitude . He is knowledgeable in his field and confident in what he does. He cares about his patients and what he does. I have and will recommend him.
  • I was in an accident involving a moose, myself & my motorcycle. As one would guess is was not to my favor. Dr. Kerr in my opinion went above and beyond what is expected. While inbetween surgeries (I had three) he personally would visit me, dress my wounds & personally address any needs 2 to 3 times a day. These are normally handled by the general hospital staff. These extra efforts from a orthopedic surgeon only refortify your confidence and ability to heal. The office staff is 1st Rate!
  • Dr. Kerr is a very down to earth doctor. He’s compassionate, very detail oriented and thorough. I’ve seen him twice in two different environments and both were on almost the opposite spectrums. I had been needing an MRI for 8 months, asking 3 other docs to order it. Only after seeing Dr Kerr the second time, I finally get my MRI next week! I am SO thankful that Dr Kerr is at his new office and that HE did what HE said HE would!
  • I was very pleased with the professionalism and friendliness Dr Kerr provided during my stay at Alaska Regional Hospital. I have very positive expectations of my post surgery recovery. I have not yet visited Dr. Kerr's office, but I'm confident my needs will be met.
  • I've never had any kind of surgery before so obviously I was nervous at the prospect of back surgery, but the way Dr.Kerr showed and explained the procedure to me eased my nerves about it and actually had me looking forward to it and now after the fact I am very grateful to him for that. He took my fear and my pain away and has given me back my quality of life. No regrets!
  • Dr.Kerr is dedicated and passionate about helping people. My husband and I were visiting Alaska when tragedy hit. A slip and fall on a glacier turned into a complex tibia and fibula fracture with an added bonus of compartment syndrome. Coming from a healthcare background I wanted the best care possible for my husband. I couldn't have asked for a better doc then Dr.Kerr. Dr.Kerr always made sure that we knew exactly what the plan was and what to expect down the road. I Highly recommend Dr.Kerr!
  • Not much I can add to what other posters have said, Dr. Kerr and all the staff at his office are amazing. I felt immediately, at ease with him his clear communication and bed side manor are the best I have ever encountered. He answered all my questions, he answered all my wife's questions. He laid out what he recommends and listed other options. He, came in on surgery day and had his game face on so i knew I was in good hands. He came to see me in the Hospital the next day to check on me.
  • Dr. Kerr is one of the most caring and compassionate Dr.'s I've ever come across. He took care of a knee problem I had for almost 2 years. He has also treated CRPS, which I have. Haven't found anyone in Anchorage that even knows what or how to treat it. I will definitely follow him wherever he goes.
  • I had a accident that resulted in a pretty severe break to both my tib and fib on Mother’s Day. Dr Kerr was the physician on call, to my many blessings. He attended to me immediately and continued to provide reassurance to my husband and myself before and after surgery. Dr Kerr is by far the best ortho MD. He goes above and beyond for his patients. His attentiveness and bedside manner exceeds excellence. Highly recommend him for your care.
  • Dr. Kerr not only made me feel confident and comfortable about my surgery, he instilled the same in my family and friends. He takes the time to talk through procedures, follow up and recommendations. Though I never want this to happen again I would seek out Dr. Kerr if I needed treatment.
  • Dr Kerr is an exceptional orthopedic Doctor. He treated me with attention and was very empathetic to my unique condition. He took the time to go above and beyond and treated me as though he would a family member. Good on you Dr Kerr. Thank you!
  • I saw Dr. Kerr after a 6 month injury that had been causing me great pain. He diagnosed my condition and immediately knew how to handle this condition. I am already feeling like my old self, which is one of being active without pain. His office staff, alone with Dr. Kerr were friendly, through and got me in and out on time. Welcome to Alaska, we are lucky to have you join our community.
  • Dr. Kerr’s name was given to me by a close friends co-worker. I met with him and he was able to diagnose a problem that I have been suffering with for a year. I am so grateful for his kind office staff, nurses, and Dr. Kerr, I am excited to get back to life. They have made this process easy and comforting. Very theral on up coming surgery, with information and litature.
  • Dr. Kerr is absolutely the best. We are vacationing here from Georgia and my daughter broke her arm unfortunately. He was cool and calm in the ER and was able to soothe my daughter in a matter of seconds. He was quick to get her into surgery and down time was a breeze. We stuck with him as her follow up doctor, and we couldn't have been more proud to do so! He is very thorough in his decisions and has a heart of gold! My daughter made a wonderful recovery! Absolutely excellent doctor to have!
  • I was blown away by his Quality and knowledge of care at Providence Hospital. I’ve had 5 spinal surgeries in 3 1/2 years. I took a fall on February 22. Dr. Kerr was doing surgery and came down in the ER to see me. I was so surprised!! I would say this man goes above and beyond for your care!! You don’t find many surgeons out there like that!!! I would definitely say he’s an excellent surgeon and very knowledgeable!!! I was so grateful for him and Kenai Spine ... thank you Sarah Smith:)
  • I was referred to Dr. Kerr for wound care. Dr. Kerr immediately put me at ease, assuring me that my small wound was healing appropriately. He spent time answering my questions and providing clear instructions for home care. I never felt like my wound was unimportant. Dr. Kerr never gave the impression that he had more important patients awaiting his attention which I am sure he did (my wound was small). During my office visit, I had his full attention. This doctor cares for his patients.
  • I found Dr. Kerr t be very honest about the procedure i was looking to have. He not only went over what could benefit from the procedure but also what could not be of benefit. His un-hurried, genuine care of what the issue was made me feel very comfortable with him. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs knee or orthopedic work performed!
  • Dr. Kerr is very prompt, kind and knowledgeable. He treated my elbow dislocation and gave me clear cut instructions on home exercises to get me back to 100%. Thank you to Dr. Kerr and his office staff for their swift yet gentle attention. I know that I will recover fully thanks to Dr. Kerr.
  • After a very scary, very painful day spent in the Providence ER last Monday, an angel walked into my treatment room. Dr. Kerr was kind, caring and compassionate. He explained that my knee was septic and I needed an arthroscopic washout. I’ve had many surgeries in my life but I have never had a surgeon that made me feel that he truly cared about me. I had such confidence in him and I went into surgery without fear. I’m looking forward to him helping me with all my chronic orthopedic issues!
  • It was my 1st visit which was easily Moved up as i was in severe pain. I found the staff friendly and accomadating . I also felt all my ?s were answered in an unhurried manner. More as i progress thru ny surgery and recovrery.
  • I seen Dr. Kerr after seeing numerous different docotors. Dr. Kerr treats his patients like family. He is very kind and patient. He listens to you and shares his very knowledgeable opinion. He gives different options, not always just physical therapy or just surgery.
  • I went to Dr Kerr after a visit to the ER with a torn meniscus and locked knee. With his 20+ years as a military medic, he immediately assessed the situation and recommended I have fluid drained from the knee area to allow more movement. Although that procedure was painful, I got immediate relief and was able to bend my knee. This allowed way less pain as I waited for surgery over the weekend. Dr. Kerr was very personable, attentive, and considerate. I hightly recommend him.
  • I was one of Dr. Kerr’s first spine surgery’s since he has gotten to anchorage. Being a RN I see and work with millions of doctors and have never seen one who is more dedicated to getting his patients back to their normal lives and feeling better.
  • Twisted my knee cap and wasn't sure if I did more damage, Sharp pains when I put pressure on it. Set the appointment, x-rays were ordered that day. Appointment the next morning. It was fantastic, we spent 30+ minutes talking., reviewing x-rays, He listens, and communicates with you with out the hurry up feeling I got others waiting. He truly cares about you and what the steps will be to get you back to where you want to be. I highly recommend him. Staff was friendly as well.
  • This is the most thorough Dr. you will EVER want taking care of you! I had a first ever type of humerus break & after 8 hrs in. surgeru, I have healed beautifully & with NO problems with my hand or fingers. He researched the need before fixing the problem!--cB,RN
  • Dr Kerr is a caring and professional doctor. My neck fusion surgery was very successful and the pain and pressure in my right arm totally went away as soon as I woke up following my surgery. I would definitely recommend him as a surgeon.
  • Highly recommend Dr. Kerr. Very thorough in explaining every aspect of surgery. Father is really happy with outcome of surgery.
  • i consider Dr. Kerr a miracle worker. The pain in my back and numbness in my leg made it almost impossible to walk. After a few consults with him I had back surgery. When I left the hospital I had no pain except the healing process. I have been able to return to my activities. He is a very caring and concerned doctor. It would be awful if he left. Please do all you can to keep him in the valley.
  • TEN+ STARS!! Dr. Kerr gave me my life back.He performed a 4 1/2 hr cervical surgery, both anterior and posterior with plate/rods and bone grafts. A few months later he performed another 4 hr surgery on my lumbar spine with a fusion and grafting, etc. I trusted Dr. Kerr with my life, & he didn't disappoint. He is very caring and professional and takes your pain and complaints seriously. If he can put our soldiers back to together, he's the surgeon for me. God Bless this man and his hands.
  • I suddenly developed serious leg pain and drop foot. My primary physician referred me to Dr. Kerr who quickly identified my problem and laid out a course of treatment that involved surgery. It has been one year since Dr. Kerr performed two back surgeries to correct my back issues. The results are that I am in no pain and my life and activities are back to normal. I feared having back surgery but Dr. Kerr did an incredible job. I would recommend him to anyone having back issues.
  • An excellent communicator who always attends to your immediate issues without mitigating the severity of your diagnosis. Understands the need of patients to return to a lifestyle of their choosing. His ability as a clinician and surgeon is outstanding---based on my experience and that of another patient who recommended Dr. Kerr to me.
  • I was hesitant to do back surgery. Dr. Kerr explained with clarity how he could fix the problem and eliminate the pain. He was right, after surgery, I am back to my normal active routine without the pain. He also took the time I needed to answer all my questions before I agreed to the surgery. I am pleased with my decision and Dr Kerr performing the surgery.
  • Dr Kerr respected my 90yo mother's request for back surgery to improve her mobility and reduce her pain. After cardiology okay, he did a very extensive surgery of decompression L spine up to L2 and basically bolted a section together. My mother is 2 weeks out from surgery and is so happy and pleased with the results. He basically kept her from having to go to a nursing home and has restored her ability to be independent!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
  • I would recommend him to anyone and have. He does a excellent job. after my procedure Iam back to how I was in my 20's before my injury on my lower back. I have zero pain and do everything I could before.
  • Dr. Kerr will go the extra mile to diagnose what is causing you trouble and then discuss and recommend options to remedy the problem. He listens to your concerns and input and does not talk down to you. I really believe that he treats his patient like he would if they were family. As well as being a truly brilliant and gifted surgeon, he is a decent and caring human being.
  • I had spine and sciatica pain for 5 years. I lived in Houston and went to several doctors. Every one of the doctors wanted to do a procedure that my insurance would not cover. I moved to WA to take care of my Dad. My doctor here, Dr. Weston (wonderful) recommended Dr. Kerr. Dr. Kerr performed the surgery and I walked out without pain the next day!!! I will always be thankful for Dr. Kerr!!! AND ... my insurance covered his procedure :o) I would give him 10 stars!!! Thank you, again!
  • He is a great surgeon. I had a two level back surgery and was very satisfied with my care. I had gotten a second opinion from a more week known doctor but decided that Dr. Kerr's plan for my back seemed better suited for my long term goals.
  • You walk away from your appointment knowing he wants to help you and he can help you. If you let him he will help you, his skill is some of the best I ever seen.
